In Troop 1525, the Class A Uniform includes:
- The Scout Shirt tucked in and properly assembled (with green epaulets, and the following patches: Troop numerals, universal Scout emblem, Council strip, badge of office (when appropriate), US flag, patrol patch and badge of current rank. (See Boy Scout Handbook, for correct placement of the items.))
- Scout trousers/shorts (or serviceable blue jeans/cargo shorts) with Scout belt.
- Troop neckerchief and slide.
- Order of the Arrow (OA) sash will only be worn when appropriate, for example, at OA meetings and Troop OA events (Tap-outs, elections, etc).
- Merit Badge Sash will be worn with the class A uniform for Courts of Honor and when directed.
The Class A Uniform will be worn at all:
- Scoutmaster Conferences (SM Conf) and Boards of Review (BoR) (Class A uniform not required when SM Conf is conducted on a campout or other official Scout outing)
- Courts of Honor
- As directed for select events
The Class B Uniform includes:
- The Scout Shirt tucked in (and properly assembled as cited above)
- Scout trousers/shorts (or serviceable blue jeans/cargo shorts)
- NO Neckerchief
The Class B Uniform will be worn at all:
- Routine Tuesday Scout Meetings (except when participating in SM Conf or BoR)
- Departure for Campouts from St. Matthews parking lot
- As directed for select events
The Class C Uniform includes:
- A Troop 1525 T-shirt shirt or other scouting-related T-shirt
- Longs pants or shorts is personal preference.
Scouts may wear the Class C uniform at select Troop functions (such as during a campout, service projects, summer troop meetings, etc.) or when announced by the Senior Patrol Leader. Troop T-shirts can be purchased during select times of the year and opportunities will be announced in the troop newsletter.
Purchasing Uniforms
The National Capital Area Council (NCAC) operates a store at 5234 Port Royal Road in Springfield (Ravensworth Shopping Center). Everything needed to get started with a uniform is available there.
The NCAC Scout Service Center at 9190 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, Maryland, is a fully equipped Scout Shop and may offer a wider selection.
Equipment, uniforms and supplies may also be ordered directly from BSA through the Scout catalog and online at (www.scoutstuff.org).
Hand-me-downs and used uniforms are acceptable provided they are in good condition.
Inappropriate Attire
Clothing that is deemed inappropriate by the published Fairfax County Public Schools Dress Code is also inappropriate at Troop 1525 activities. (Fairfax County Public County Schools Dress Code).
